Tip Calculator & Bill Splitter
Enter the total bill, choose the tip percentage and the number of people, and we'll tell you how much each person owes, with the tip included and shown separately.
How it is calculated
Tip
Bill × percentage ÷ 100Per person
(Bill + Tip) ÷ number of peopleExample
A €60 bill with a 10% tip is an extra €6, €66 in total. Split between two people, that is €33 each.
Frequently asked questions
How much do people tip in Spain?
There's no rule or obligation. It's common to round up or leave 5-10% if the service was good, and around 10% is typical at higher-end restaurants.
What about when I travel elsewhere?
It varies a lot. In the US, 15-20% is expected because it forms part of staff wages. In Japan, by contrast, leaving a tip can be awkward. It's worth checking local customs before you travel.
Is the tip calculated before or after VAT?
In Spain the bill you receive already includes VAT, so the percentage is applied to that total.
